September/October 2017: Hudson Valley, New York
Twelfth Stop: Hudson Valley - Stone Ridge, Mohonk Mountain House, and Storm King Arts Center As E approaches her 1-year milestone, we've been observing how she used to seem tiny but now has acquired the hefty weight of a real child. As a result, Mom and Dad have been scrambling to fit in as many hikes using a baby carrier as possible, because soon, the toddler/zombie waddle 2 blocks to school every morning is going to seem like the longest possible trek. On Labor Day weekend, expecting sunshine, we booked an AirBnB farmhouse with a pool near Stone Ridge, NY. While the farmhouse was as scenic as you could wish, with plenty of rustic stylistic touches and modern amenities (except internet!), Sunday was a washout. Ronny eventually braved the pool for a few minutes on Monday, but otherwise, the only swimmers were a pair of unfortunate chipmunks.
